David starts his TNT training

We're happy to have David's TNT site up and running. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far! On Saturday, David ran his first run with the TNT group in Forest Park. He ran 4 miles. While he was out he saw the TNT groups doing a long run to get ready for the Chicago and Nike Marathon in San Fransisco this fall. I think its fair to say, he was amazed at the number of people involved. Tonight he is out doing a quick 8 miler to stay on track for our half marathon on Sept. 14. Saturday I went out for 13 miles on the Katy Trail in St. Charles with my training buddies. We wanted to do the second section of the full marathon course. It was pretty hot and the run was tough. Hopefully things will cool down in the next three weeks. It was fun to do that half of the course. We had done the same thing when we did the St. Louis half marathon in the spring. I had some doubts about being able to do a full 26.2 during my last, very hot, mile, but I know we'll both be ready!

Dave and I ran the St. Louis Marathon in April. At the finish line we changed into our new shirts, "You just finished the St. Louis Marathon. What are you going to do next? I'm going to Disney World! 1-11-09." We've been looking forward to this race for a while. I am going to be running my first full marathon and David is excited about running for Team in Training. It will mean a lot to us to finish together and run the race to raise money to honor David's dad, Arden Mead. After we both run the Lewis and Clark Half Marathon in September, we'll start our marathon training. If you follow the link for the Lewis and Clark Marathon, you can see us at the starting line of last year's race, which was Dave's first full marathon. He's wearing a light blue shirt on the right side (I'm hiding behind someone's fist pump).
